The Journey & Making of Resilient Beings

We are moving through a sonic doorway, together.
In this space, everyone belongs.

The one carrying sorrow. The one carrying joy. The one who’s been pushed away.
The sounds are like a mirror of the world…where perfection gives way to rawness, to humanity, to the ancient sense of belonging many of us have never known.

Resilient Beings lives beyond a stage, album, project — and leans into a cultural bridge. Away from screens, back to eye contact. Away from isolation, back to the circle. It is an invitation to co-create a future where art helps us heal, remember, and rebuild.

‘loneliness is just a cloud’

'We are Resilient Beings, More Powerful than we think'

We are living in a time of heightened chaos—where war, disconnection, and ecological collapse are mirrored by inner unrest. But beneath the noise, something quieter is calling us: to listen, to remember, and to return.

As artists, how we respond matters. Art is not performance —it is a language. When the storm hit Asheville, we were reminded to look deeper at what we really value: community, relationship, and the sacred interconnection between us all. In moments of crisis, we are called to step more boldly toward what we are creating.

This work is about reclaiming art as a living ritual. It is not about playing the best notes—it’s about how we show up. Through our collective voices, we find some of the most direct pathways back to our humanness, to forgiveness, and to the deep remembering of who we are.

resilient beings

new community-inspired album out now

Inspired by a deeply personal three-year journey of being cracked open and alchemized by life’s challenges, Max’s Ribner most recent album, Resilient Beings, is a collection of modern-day mantras and torch-bearing songs to bring the listener a sense of coming home to self.

In spirit of the collective, gathered as a community in May 2025 at Echo Mountain Recording where 15+ artists, community choir and the friends of 'Appalachia' area came together to bring these songs to life.

The songs are written with intentions of giving humanity a palm on the back, for our generation / future generations, slowing down, creating longer lasting relationships and piecing ourselves back together.
